Troilus and Cressida Theatre Break

Shakespeare’s epic Trojan play comes to life as part of the World Shakespeare Festival which is part of the London 2012 Festival. This groundbreaking, multi-media collaboration between the RSC and the Wooster Group is an innovative production of one of Shakespeare’s most ambiguous plays. Falling into the category of both tragedy and comedy Troilus and Cressida lends itself to varied interpretations.

Following the Trojan story of love, war and politics, Troilus and Cressida is co-directed by Elizabeth LeCompte and Rupert Goold. LeCompte is also the co-founder of the New York based Wooster Group. Since forming in 1980 the group is renowned for its experimental and innovative style. Rupert Goold is an RSC Associate Director and Artistic Director of Headlong.

Troilus and Cressida will be at the Swan Theatre from 6 – 18 August 2012.
