Following a hugely successful run in London’s West End Sister Act is heading on its first UK tour. Based on the incredibly popular 1992 film Sister Act, Birmingham is a show that the whole family will love. Sister Act, Birmingham follows the story of lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier who after witnessing a murder immediately runs to tell the police. Deloris is fearful for her life and is placed in protective custody somewhere that no one will look for her, a convent. Renamed as Sister Mary Clarence, Deloris takes her place among the nuns but is soon at heads with the strict Mother Superior as she struggles with her new regime. She is forbidden from smoking, drinking or going out and turns to the convent choir and her love of music to help her survive life in the convent. Together with new found friends Sister Mary Robert and Sister Mary Patrick they transform the choir from its traditional chorus to a sensational musical group. As the choir attracts people into the church, local news and photographers soon follow and Deloris cover is blown. Kidnapped from the convent the story takes a superb comedic twist as nuns and criminals are set in a battle to get to Deloris. Sister Act, Birmingham is full of perfect comic moments and incredibly uplifting songs, the show is co-produced by Whoopi Goldberg and since its West End opening has been seen by over a million people. Sister Act may contain scenes that are unsuitable for children under the age of 8.
