For a really special short holiday, book from our collection of London Theatre Breaks.
The Royal Court Theatre returns to the West End with its production of Jumpy at the Duke of York’s Theatre. Jumpy will play at the theatre from the 16th August through until the 3rd November 2012.
Written by April De Angelis and directed by Nina Raine Jumpy is a comical family drama about life after 50. Tamsin Greig famed for her television appearances in The Green Wing, Black Books, Friday Night dinner and more, returns to the role of Hilda a role which she had previously achieved huge acclaim.
Coping with a teenage daughter, advances from a predatory actor and confiding in her sexually adventurous friend Frances, Hilda has a lot to contend with. Jumpy is a well considered play that will have you laughing and cringing along with Hilda as she tries to make sense of her life.
Jumpy was nominated for the MasterCard Best New Play at the 2012 Laurence Olivier Awards and enjoyed a sell-out run on its first outing at the Royal Court in 2011.
It is advised that Jumpy is suitable for ages 14+
