Candide Theatre Break Package

Playwright Mark Ravenhill and Director Lyndsey Turner combine forces in a new production of Candide as part of the Royal Shakespeare Companys Summer Season 2013. From 29th August to 26th October guests on Candide theatre breaks can discover the pairs modern interpretation of Voltaires eighteenth-century satire.

Originally published in 1759, the French novella tells the story of a young man, Candide, whose life in an Edenic paradise is slowly pulled apart by war, corruption, murder and misfortune. Guests on Candide theatre breaks next summer will witness an insightful journey into the human condition, as Ravenhill and Turners production takes to the Swan Theatre stage.

The Swan Theatre, which opened in 1986 is a favourite space for many actors, directors and audiences and is a key venue for many of the Royal Shakespeare Companys performances, including Candide, during the popular Summer Season.

Performance times for Candide are as follows:

Evenings - Monday to Saturday at 7.15pm

Matinees - Saturdays at 1.15pm

Candide Theatre Breaks always includes tickets with hotel accommodation, and the number of tickets you request must be the same as the number of hotel guests.
